FREE Family Activities this Holiday Season 2021

Starting Thanksgiving weekend, area locals and visitors alike may enjoy the holidays with fun, free activities at The Shops At Hilltop North, East & West in Virginia Beach, Virginia.

One of the center’s most loved traditions, dating back more than twenty-five years, is the horse-drawn carriage rides. Year after year, dressed in full holiday regalia, these carriages are filled with families and friends wanting to experience the joy of simpler times. Two carriages will be running every weekend starting Friday & Saturday, November 26-27, 2021, and continuing through Sunday, December 19, 2021. Passengers may board the carriages November 26-27 and December 4, 2021 in Hilltop North near the Verizon Store. Saturday, December 11 and 18 and Sunday, December 19, passengers may board in Hilltop East near TASTE and Forbes Candies.

Special care is being taken to provide a safe, sanitized ride to everyone choosing to board. Carriages will be wiped down between each usage, with each ride restricted to one family or group riding together. In addition, one family member may stand in-line to hold their place for the ride, with each waiting position about 6 feet apart.

Families may also enjoy visits with strolling Santa, who will treat each child to a free gift! In addition, watch for the strolling Doorway Singers as they sing – acappella – your favorite holiday tunes, including the classics that bring back memories of Christmases of yore. Plus, a few jazzy renditions of some more modern holiday songs like “Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree”. Saturdays, December 4 and 18, 2021, 12:00 to 3:00 p.m.

All entertainment is free and open to the public. The shopping center is located at 1544 Laskin Road, at the northeast corner of Laskin and First Colonial Roads, Virginia Beach.
